today i realised what i really like to do, and i think it's important i right down the little things i enjoy so that i can curate a career that involves all of them. i just loved going through the 2022 collections. i could not get enough of it. i used vogue runway as my main source, and just went through every recent collection and saved every look that i liked. i was especially taken with the couture shows (dior and schiaparelli), as well as alexander mcqueen, az factory, chanel, and sacai. i noticed two things: monochromatic neutralism, and gold metal detailing. me loving neutralism is not a surprise, but i was overjoyed to see the return of neutralism within monochromatic looks, which seemed to originate with neutral colours but recently has steered towards more bright, dramatic colors. i'm very happy to see the return of white, black, gold, beige, grey, and brown monochrome looks. it's what i would wear, and it's what catches my eye when i go through the shows.

schiaparelli nailed the gold metal detailing, which, after reading a bit about the collection, i learned that the brand put copious amounts of time into perfecting the perfect shade of gold. the gold complimented simplistic, monochrome, black and white garments and it was just unbelievably elegant. if you were to tell me the concept behind this schiaparelli collection before i looked at it, i would not be interested. alien higher-beings is not something i find inspiration in. but this collection was just so utterly sophisticated and i think using gold as an accent, or any natural material for that matter, is incredibly attractive.

i am not totally sure what i want my publication to be yet, but i have these two themes (monochromatic neutralism and metal detailing) in mind that i can focus on.
